For this Telford project, the client wanted to rejuvenate a vintage outdoor metal table and chair set, which had been weathered over time. The furniture’s original dark green finish had faded and accumulated small patches of rust, diminishing its aesthetic appeal in the garden. The goal was to bring new life to these pieces with a fresh, modern colour that would enhance the outdoor space.

We began by setting up a protective area outdoors to catch any overspray and ensure a clean application. The initial step involved sanding the metal surfaces to remove any rust and rough patches, creating a smooth base for the paint. This preparation is crucial for achieving a durable finish, as it ensures the paint adheres effectively to the metal.

For the transformation, we chose a high-quality, rust-resistant spray paint in a soft, contemporary sage green. Using our Graco airless sprayer, we applied the paint evenly across the intricate details of each chair and the table, ensuring that every ornate pattern was fully covered. The airless spray system allowed us to reach all the small crevices and elaborate cutouts typical of vintage metal furniture, achieving a smooth, even coat without brush marks.

The new colour brightened the set significantly, transforming it into a charming focal point for the garden. The rust-resistant paint not only provided a fresh look but also offered long-lasting protection against the elements, ensuring the set would maintain its new appearance over time.

The client was thrilled with the result, noting how the updated furniture now complemented the patio area beautifully. This project demonstrates how professional-grade equipment and attention to detail can restore and modernize outdoor furniture, extending its life and enhancing the overall appeal of outdoor spaces.
