This project in Telford involved refreshing a spacious bedroom, focusing on creating a cleaner, more modern look with subtle colour adjustments. The “before” photo reveals the room in its original state, with slightly outdated, neutral walls and visible signs of wear that dulled the space. The client’s goal was to bring a fresh, elegant feel to the bedroom, enhancing the natural light and creating a calming, cohesive atmosphere.
To begin, we carefully prepared the walls, filling in any imperfections and sanding the surfaces for a smooth finish using our Festool sander with dust extraction. This step is essential to ensure that the final paint layer would adhere flawlessly, especially in areas where light reflections would highlight any unevenness. For painting, we used our Graco airless sprayer, allowing us to apply a seamless coat that covered the entire room uniformly. This method is particularly effective in larger spaces, as it achieves a consistent finish with no visible brush marks or roller textures.
The chosen colour was a soft, contemporary grey, which not only modernised the room but also complemented the white of the doors and skirting boards. The updated colour scheme transformed the look of the built-in wardrobe doors, which were also freshly painted in a brighter white, contrasting beautifully with the walls. To achieve this high-quality finish on the wardrobe doors, we used a scuff-resistant paint that withstands regular handling, perfect for maintaining a pristine look over time.
Additionally, we upgraded the ceiling and trim with a high-durability paint, ensuring a crisp white finish that enhances the room’s sense of height and space. The new colour palette, combined with professional-grade tools and careful attention to detail, resulted in a significant improvement in the room’s aesthetics. The client was delighted with the fresh, sophisticated atmosphere, noting that the updated tones brought a sense of calm and brightness to the entire space.
