This project involved refreshing a narrow hallway area in a Telford property, transforming it from a cool, grey-toned space to a warm and inviting passageway. The “before” image shows the original state with a two-tone grey and white colour scheme, which, while neat, lacked the warmth that the client desired. The goal was to create a brighter, more welcoming feel by introducing warmer tones.
We began by preparing the walls carefully, using our Festool sanding equipment with dust extraction to ensure a smooth, clean surface free from imperfections. This is crucial in smaller spaces where any minor flaw can be more noticeable due to the proximity of the walls. With the walls prepped, we applied a warm peach and terracotta colour combination, which instantly uplifted the area, giving it a cosy and cheerful character.
Using our Graco airless sprayer, we achieved a flawless application of paint, ensuring that the colours blended seamlessly where they met. This approach is particularly effective for two-tone walls, as it allows precise control, producing sharp, clean lines that define each colour section. The peach tone on the upper half of the walls reflects natural light, enhancing the sense of space, while the terracotta lower section adds depth and complements the wooden floor, creating a harmonious flow.
For durability, we used high-quality, scuff-resistant paint, which is essential in narrow hallways that experience frequent contact. This choice of materials ensures that the colours remain vibrant and the walls retain their fresh appearance over time, with minimal maintenance required.
The client was delighted with the transformation, remarking on how the new colours brought warmth and life into the previously neutral space. This project highlights how carefully selected colours and professional-grade equipment can significantly impact even the smallest areas, turning a simple hallway into an inviting and stylish part of the home.
