In this Telford renovation, the client required a complete refresh of an attic room, previously unused and lacking finish. The goal was to transform this area into a clean, bright, and functional space. As seen in the “before” photo, the room was in a raw state, with exposed floors and walls, making it a blank canvas ready for improvement.
We began by preparing the walls and ceiling, using Festool sanding equipment with dust extraction to create a smooth surface free from any construction residue or imperfections. This preparatory step is essential to achieve a flawless paint finish and to ensure longevity by allowing the paint to adhere properly to the surface.
For painting, we used our Graco airless sprayer, which allowed us to quickly and evenly cover the walls and ceiling in a bright white shade, ideal for enhancing natural light and making the space feel more open. This technique is especially effective in narrow or compact spaces like attics, as it provides a uniform layer with no brush or roller marks, resulting in a professional-grade finish. The white paint selected was scuff-resistant, ensuring that the walls would maintain their fresh appearance even with frequent use.
Additionally, we worked on the door and window frames, using durable paint to ensure they would stand up to regular wear. The door, previously unpainted and worn, was given a fresh coat, blending seamlessly with the new walls and enhancing the overall brightness of the room. This small detail, though subtle, added to the cohesive and polished look of the space.
The client was highly satisfied with the result, noting how the attic had been transformed from a neglected area to a versatile and welcoming room. This project showcases how careful preparation and the use of professional tools can elevate a simple attic renovation into a functional, attractive living space, ready to be used as a bedroom, office, or additional storage area.
